Solar Light Distribution in Sindhupalchowk, Helambu
Event Information
June 27, 2021: Due to the recent flash flood and landslides in Sindhupalchowk, it has caused severe damages to the people living there. Among the places in Sindhupalchowk, Helambu is one of the most affected areas. There have been reports of widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure. BIA Foundation promptly mobilized resources to provide solar lights to the affected households. Without electricity access, the daily lives of residents were severely disrupted. Solar lighting provided a safe and immediate solution to restore a sense of normalcy. The distribution was carried out by BIA volunteers in coordination with local authorities. Families most in need were prioritized, ensuring that the aid reached those who were most vulnerable. This initiative reflects BIA Foundation's commitment to rapid humanitarian response and sustainable solutions. We continue to monitor the situation and stand ready to provide further support as needed.
